Come Learn about the need for affordable housing in New York, Plan a successful advocacy campaign, and Advocate on behalf of those who need your help.

Each year HFH-NYS holds a 5-day event to increase awareness in our affiliates, campus chapters, and the public about the importance of advocacy and its role in changing the system of poverty.
During this event you will learn about:

What is advocacy and why is it important
How to organize an advocacy campaign
Issues of poverty housing
Current New York housing legislation
Habitat's legislative agenda

The highlight of this event is our visit to the New York State Legislative Office Building. During this time participants lobby legislators about the need for affordable housing.
